The Communist Party manifesto told by a homeless man, the Dadaist motives spoken by a widow at a funeral, Dogma 95 described by a teacher to her pupils, and so on. 13 different characters: each character a scenario, each scenario an artistic movement celebrated through intense monologues.
This is the challenge to which Oscar® prize-winner Cate Blanchett is subjected in this spectacular tribute to the literary manifesto tradition that has conquered Sundance. Artist and filmmaker Julian Rosefeldt takes up and recontextualizes the immortal words of artists and thinkers and through those words reinterprets the contemporary world. In this way he tells us what has changed and what will never change.
