THE DESERT PEOPLE
By David Lamelas

A film projection with David Lamelas & Andrea Viliani

11.12.23 at 8.30 PM at FILMCLUB

The Foundation presents at FILMCLUB the film The Desert People (1974) by the artist David Lamelas. The film will offer more insight into the Foundation’s current exhibition, David Lamelas. I Have to Think About It. Part II.
Between reality and fiction, it was conceived as a «study of American cinematic production», a documentary but also its own critique. The narration of experiences and living conditions in the Tohono O’odham Native American reservation evokes a road movie interspersed with interviews from which the risk of compromise and loss of indigenous culture emerges.
The film screening will be introduced by David Lamelas (connecting from Buenos Aires) with curator Andrea Viliani.

The projection (in English language) is at FILMCLUB (Via Dr. Josef Streiter, 8/D, Bolzano).

Free entry (subject to availability).
