We’re very happy to announce that the Antonio Dalle Nogare Foundation will host during the festival Transart the music performance and exhibition NEG: Suonare le pause.

The NEG (1970) is a work by conceptual artist Vincenzo Agnetti (Milan, 1926-1981), conceived as an instrument to play ‘music in negative’. In the absence of a sound running through it, this ‘sound’ sculpture begins to produce a frequency, giving relevance to the pauses in music or speech.

This is a conceptual operation, strongly linked to a critical reflection on society and consumption. The NEG interrogates the alienation processes produced by machine and technology uses.
The mdi ensemble will use the NEG in some pieces of the performance that will be entirely dedicated to John Cage. The exhibition will present archive materials of the NEG history and previous musical experiments.

The exhibition will be free and open to the public at the Antonio Dalle Nogare Foundation during its regular opening hours from September 10 to 24 2022.
