The Sleep of Reason Produces Monsters at 10:30 PM
Südtirol Jazzfestival Alto Adige returns to the Antonio Dalle Nogare Foundation on Saturday 5 July from 9 PM for an evening of the most innovative jazz.
The soloists and ensembles at the Südtirol Jazzfestival Alto Adige not only venture forth to dizzying musical heights but quite literally ascend the “real” heights of the mountains, instruments on their backs, and entertain the public against a breathtaking Alpine backdrop.
The Südtirol Jazzfestival Alto Adige is something of a ground-breaker itself: sure-footed, yet treading carefully over the “tricky” patches, the festival blazes new trails through the musical landscape, putting the mainstream jazz and concert halls of the area at risk of extinction. With contrasts and fusions in unusual concert venues and new worlds of sounds, event organisers and artists follow the path less travelled in the quest for tones unheard of and melodies unimaginable.
Hundreds of jazz artists have come to the Südtirol Jazzfestival Alto Adige as guests over the years, including world-famous names on the international stage and aspiring young musicians from the world over.

The Foundation will be closed during the day to allow for event preparations, and will then open at 8 PM.
Free guided tour, in Italian or German, of the exhibition Under the Spell of Duchamp at 8 PM.
Each group can accommodate a maximum of 25 people.
Concerts

Since 2018, the trio has been developing a sound that oscillates between contemporary classical music, jazz, Indonesian gamelan, South Indian Carnatic music, and Japanese gagaku. With compositions shaped by silence, murmurs, rustling, breaths, and melodies, the Italian band aims to break free from Western musical structures—decentralizing listening in both geographic and global terms.
at 10:30 PM - The Sleep of Reason Monsters
The sleep of reason creates monsters - and yet the music of this band, founded in 2023 by turntablist Mariam Rezaei, is anything but monstrous. Anything goes: punk elements, free improvisation, noise, hip-hop, techno and new music merge into a roaring sonic maelstrom that defies categorisation and convention.
